FAQ

Why has Prenatal Ease been developed?

From conception to birth, your body will undergo significant changes, both nutritionally and physically. During this time your body is working hard to support the development of a single cell in your belly into a living, breathing, little human being. With all the changes going on, it's not surprising that your body will have different nutritional requirements for all the stages of pregnancy. What is surprising is that most women still take a one-size-fits-all prenatal vitamin.

We believe that every stage of motherhood is unique. We understand your body will go through significant changes, nutritionally and physically at every stage of pregnancy. As a result, we developed a multivitamin that takes into account all these nutritional changes and ensures you get all you need for a healthy pregnancy.

All our multivitamins are optimized for each stage of pregnancy. Although the typical “one-size-fits-all” multivitamin may have all the nutrients required for pregnancy, it may also have excessive levels nutrients and for the wrong stage of pregnancy. When it comes to vitamins, more is not necessarily better. For example, excessive levels of vitamin A can lead to birth defects, but having too little can hinder the development of the baby’s eyes and heart. Another example, having too much iron in the first trimester can aggravate morning sickness and constipation, but having too little iron in the 2nd or 3rd trimester can cause anemia. This is why it’s all about getting the right balance of nutrients at the right time. Prenatal Ease ensures that at every stage of pregnancy you are getting the right level of nutrients.

Do I need Prenatal Ease even if I have a healthy diet?

It is important to eat a well balanced diet during your pregnancy. However, with changing nutritional demands of your developing baby, morning sickness, digestive discomfort, nausea, low energy levels, busy schedules, it can be a challenge to get all your nutritional requirements just from your diet every day. Certain nutrients like omega 3 fatty acids are more difficult to obtain through diet alone as the richest source is from oily fish. Oily fish can be contaminated with heavy metals, and polychlorinated biphenyl compounds. That is why many health professionals recommend taking a prenatal multivitamin along with a balanced diet.

Prenatal Ease supplements are meant to supplement a healthy and balanced diet. Taking the supplement along with a balanced diet will provide you with the insurance that you are getting all the nutrition you need for a healthy pregnancy.

Can all the Prenatal Ease supplements be taken outside the recommended pregnancy stage?

Yes. All Prenatal Ease supplements are safe for women to take throughout any stage of pregnancy. However, for best results, it should be taken for the recommended pregnancy stage.

What is the Natural and Non-prescription Health Products Directorate (NNHPD)?

What dosage form are the vitamins in?

All of the Prenatal Ease multivitamins come as vegetarian capsules. There are a couple of benefits of capsules. Firstly, it is easier to swallow than tablets. Many people find the shape of the capsule helps the medicine go down easier. Secondly, using capsules allows less excipients and fillers to be used. Finally, the capsule typically breaks down and opens up in your stomach faster than tablets. This will allow all the nutrients to be absorbed more quickly.
